Easter 2025 Days Out

Top Easter 2025 Days Out in Cambridgeshire & Bedfordshire

Spring is one of our favourite times of year to explore the countryside, reconnect with local culture, and embrace fresh air and fun with the family. Whether you’re based at Alconbury Weald in Cambridgeshire or Fairfield Meadows in Bedfordshire, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite Easter 2025 experiences to help you make the most of the long weekend and the school holidays. These are opportunities to engage with heritage, let little ones roam free in beautiful grounds, and even enjoy a spot of shopping or a countryside picnic along the way.

Here’s what we’ll be doing this Easter, and why you might like to do the same.

CAMBRIDGESHIRE
(Ideal if you’re living at Alconbury Weald or visiting one of our new show homes)

Easter Egg Hunt at Wimpole Estate, National Trust
Wimpole Estate never disappoints when it comes to seasonal celebrations. For Easter 2025, the National Trust are hosting one of their ever-popular Easter Egg Hunts, complete with nature-themed challenges around the grounds. It’s a brilliant way to encourage children to stretch their legs while enjoying the splendour of this historic parkland.
There’s also a lovely café and plenty of space to relax with a picnic. We recommend arriving early to soak up the spring atmosphere—daffodils and lambs included.

Easter at the Grand Arcade, Cambridge
For those seeking a more urban Easter outing, the Grand Arcade in Cambridge offers a stylish and family-friendly Easter programme. The John Lewis Easter events usually include crafting workshops, egg painting and even in-store egg hunts that younger children absolutely love. It’s also the perfect opportunity to pick up a thoughtful spring gift or seasonal tableware.
Top tip: Enjoy coffee and cake at one of the many cafés inside the arcade before heading out to explore the cobbled streets of central Cambridge.

Burwell Museum & Windmill Easter Sunday Egg Hunt
This Easter Sunday tradition is perfect for families who love a blend of hands-on history and good old-fashioned countryside fun. Explore the museum’s heritage buildings, take in the views from the windmill, and join in a well-planned Easter egg hunt across the site. This one is ideal for multi-generational visits, with something to entertain everyone from toddlers to grandparents.

BEDFORDSHIRE
(Perfect for Fairfield Meadows residents or those planning a move to this green and welcoming corner of Bedfordshire)

Easter Adventure Quest at Wrest Park
Running right through the Easter holiday period, the Adventure Quest at Wrest Park adds a storytelling twist to the classic egg hunt. Children will be solving clues, exploring hidden corners of the formal gardens, and of course, finding a chocolate treat at the end.
Wrest Park itself is a wonderful place to spend the day—whether admiring the baroque architecture, picnicking by the lakes, or letting children run free in the playground.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Turvey House
Close to Fairfield Meadows, this is the sort of event we always find ourselves popping along to for inspiration. From handmade gifts to delicious baked goods, it’s a celebration of local creativity and community as well as family fun. While not as large as some of the regional events, its charm lies in its personal touch. It’s the perfect way to spend a sunny spring afternoon.

Spring Trail at Waddesdon Manor
A little further afield, but well worth the journey, Waddesdon’s Easter trail never fails to impress. Think manicured lawns, grand architecture, and a charming children’s activity trail through the estate. It’s an idyllic setting for a family outing, and while the kids are tracking down chocolate, the adults can indulge in a glass of fizz or explore the estate’s famous wine cellars.
