A look back at a positive year for Campbell Buchanan and preview what is to come for us in 2012
As we reach the end of 2011, Campbell Buchanan is delighted to report another successful year. In these seemingly difficult times, we have maintained our proactive New Homes build programme resulting in a significant number of New Homes built within the region. House sales have been buoyant, bucking the perceived trend. In fact sales have exceeded our expectations, which demonstrates that quality really does count. Our development at Orchard Close Harston was only launched in July and now has only 1 plot remaining. Two of our other developments Temple Mews Huntingdon and Manor Place Colne also have only a few plots remaining as we head into 2012.
The summer brought us a much coveted ‘Conservation Award’ for our development at Merrington Place. At the same location we very much enjoyed the unveiling of the beautiful Public Art. We also refreshed our brand identity and launched a new website during the first half of the year.
2012, brings us exciting new developments and challenges. We start by launching the second phase at Merrington Place, Impington in the spring. Following the success of the first phase in 2011, where again we have already sold the majority of homes that we had to offer. We are preparing to launch 22 private houses and apartments with a similar high end contemporary feel to the first phase.
We will also be breaking ground on 3 more new developments; Primrose Lane, Huntingdon a fantastic development of 22 houses and apartments set in a mature but sensitive central Huntingdon location. Brookside phase 2, located adjacent to Park View, Huntingdon, Phase 2 is a scheme 38 Private Apartments set over 4 floors. These light and airy 1 2 & 3 bedroom apartments will afford our usual and distinctive quality feel and edge that you would only expect from a Campbell Buchanan home. As many people will know during 2011 we completed an exciting Extra Care facility known as Park View on the Huntingdon ring road, in conjunction with our partner Oak foundation which is part of the Luminus Group.
We are also delighted to announce a small scheme of just 11 houses set in the centre of idyllic Clifton, in Bedfordshire. These 2 3 4 & 5 bedroom delightful traditional houses are due for completion in spring 2013.
For information on these developments or to register your interest please use the link on our Website or call our Head Office on 01480 848020.
All at Campbell Buchanan wish you a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
GDP reports
As we read the latest positive quarterly GDP reports in the news, backed up by the Chancellors’ comments, it seems the UK economy continues to grow throughout the country especially in the Eastern region which continues to outperform the national picture, we cannot help but underscore this fact by reporting continuing and strengthening activity on all our developments. Campbell Buchanan is delighted and proud to announce that July was our best sales month since August 2008. Reservations, together with high quality enquiries, have been achieved on all of our sites, including Temple Mews in the centre of Huntingdon, Merrington Place in Impington, Manor Place in Colne and, our most recent development, Orchard Close in the middle of Harston. As has always been the case, the high quality new homes that Campbell Buchanan create are what discerning customers continue to look for when considering a the purchase of a quality new home in and Cambridge, Huntingdon and the wider environs of Cambridgeshire. These green shoots of recovery are now firmly established, we expect them to continue to grow steadily into a fuller recovery in this vibrant, exciting and affluent region.
Merrington Place artwork and landscaping sows seeds for the future
Two stunning pieces of artwork have been unveiled at Merrington Place, the impressive new development on the site of the old Unwins seed factory in Impington.
The pieces, super sized seeds cast in metal, are situated at the entrance and centre of the site. Both were commissioned by the developers Campbell Buchanan using Commissions East and the sculptor Matthew Lane Sanderson.
Andrew Girvan, Campbell Buchanan’s Development Design and Planning Manager, is delighted with the results. “We’ve always believed that a development is about far more than bricks and mortar and we’ve been actively involved in the artwork from the start.
“It’s important to Campbell Buchanan that we’re part of the community and so we’re particularly pleased that the Parish Council and local schools have been involved in the process.”
Whilst the piece at the entrance is purely decorative, the seed in the centre of the site is designed to be much more practical. “I hope that residents will sit on it, meet round it and use it as a functional piece of furniture,” said Mr Lane Sanderson.
As well as the seeds, Merrington Place now boasts an award winning community orchard. Designed by the Huck Partnership, the orchard has forty trees covering a number of traditional varieties of Cambridgeshire apples. The scheme also includes other trees and hedges, all of which should encourage birds, bees and butterflies, amongst others, to the area.
The landscaping has just won a South Cambridgeshire District Council Conservation Award.
Bradshaws’ Mark Wood, who is handling the sales at Merrington Place said, “The artwork and orchard add some special touches to what is already a very high quality development. We’re receiving a lot of interest and the properties are selling well.”
